Text Box: What is a MaxLight System and how does it work? The MaxLight Basement Sunlight System is an innovative product designed specifically to bring natural sunlight into below ground basements. It was developed by two home builders with over 50 years experience in the construction industry. It brightens the basement by “increasing the amount of sunlight” that shines through each window. The MaxLight System consists of two key elements, a window well liner and a light reflection panel. With a MaxLight System, the sunlight that normally hits the concrete and siding above the basement window is captured and directed into the well. The light scattering window well liner then projects the sunlight through the basement window and clear across the basement. Text Box: But don’t I need large windows and wells to brighten my basement? The short answer is "NO" and here is why.... Even with an oversized window and window well, the only sunlight that makes its way into the basement is whatever amount can make it over the top of the well. This sunlight ends up hitting the basement floor and not much else (see left side of photo below). This unique ability of the systems to capture additional sunlight and project it across the room, allows them to brighten the basement better than any window alone can, big or small.
